The honking... kind of alarms him at first. And on some level facinates him. He looks pretty uncertain for a moment. But then he tries to smile because you seem pretty sad to him and he wants to make you see it's okay.
"I know it's kinda scary. But it'll be okay. It's a lot of fun too. Have you ever celebrated Halloween before?"
He knows some people around here haven't. Maybe your one of them. He goes on chattering assuming you haven't.
"We get to do trick or treating. And get lots of candy. You can go trick or treating with me if you want. I'll show you how to do it if you don't know."
