[Silent night.

Night-full-of-holes.

All is calm.

All is bright.

Except as the complex has no doubt discovered by now, all the trolls are nocturnal for the most part. Granted, human sunlight blinds you slower, and you can stay up for it if you want, but most of them choose to stick to more natural schedules regardless.

And trolls like things a little less than bright. Unless you're Kanaya, then sunlight just makes you sparkle.

One young troll in particular has been getting his notice on to the sounds outside. Small explosions, almost. The FLARPers (Fatal Live Action Role Players) must be out in force tonight, which makes him turn to his slime a little harder, shivering.

But a sliver of light cuts through behind one of the mattresses he's piled against the window, and he shifts it to take a look despite himself.

This will prove to be an excellent decision on his part.]

[Trolls don't celebrate new perigees after all.

It takes him a second for his eyes to adjust to the painfully bright explosion of lights and colors. When he does, it takes him a second longer to process that the sky is starting some sick fires.

Soon nearly everyone in the complex can hear him zipping down the hallways, barefoot, and trailing his puppet-bro lil Cal, though he's run to get his troll-buddies, primarily.]

[He cartwheels madly through the halls, making rather more noise than one would suspect is possible coming from just one little guy with a fistful of horns and a scarf made of puppet.

Fortunately for Gamzee, many humans stay up late to welcome the new year.

But it seems the complex itself is adding the fireworks.

Feel free to take your characters out, enjoy the falling snow, and celebrate!]

[Zexion was trying to sleep. But it seems lately there are a lot of noisy, weird-looking kids who like to run down the halls shouting at night. As much as he'd like to stay in his nice warm bed and ignore it, the shouting doesn't seem to be stopping.

So he rolls out of bed and head out to investigate, groggily grabbing a broom on the way. If it's one of those horned things again, he remembers the last one was pretty vicious. And he's not opposed to giving one of them a good whack with a broom to shut them up.

[Oh. Hey. There's a short robed human in the hall with a broom, now. Gamzee runs up to investigate, honking blissfully, ugly puppet still tied around his neck.]



[Granted, Gamzee's a lot weirder looking than Karkat, but he doesn't seem to be armed. If anything, he seems to be about as happy as a demonically clownish alien can be.]

[See how not-impressed he is by this, Gamzee. He just stands there, broom still in hand, taking in the appearance. Gamzee looks a bit more intimidating than Karkat did too. It's not lost on Zexion how big and strong those hands look.]

Miracles?

[He does have huge hands, but a troll can't help what hands he's given. A troll's just got to look up at the sky and thank the mirthful messiahs for yet another gift of miracle.

He's still cheerful, and in mirth-praise-mode. Even blue-haired motherfuckers with brooms can't get him down. He's all into sharing the celebrate.]

[He turns his eyes to the window briefly, listening to the sound of the fireworks going off. Ah. Right. New Years. He doesn't think he's ever really bothered to celebrate it before. Perhaps when he was very small, before his father died, he might have. But it's been a long time.]

You mean the fireworks? I take it you've never seen them before?

[As previously mentioned, there is no troll new years, so Gamzee just grins.]

[That... is probably the stupidest thing he's heard. Fireworks made of friendship between clouds? That's just...]

Actualy, their just a type of colorful explosive that people launch into the sky to celebrate various holidays.

[Now that he thinks about it, it might be his ex-roomate setting those things off. He was pretty fond of those kinds of things. Maybe he'll go take a look soon since he's up anyway. Once he's done setting this kid straight anyway.]
